The renowned KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York is a marvelous indoor arena offering a vast range of activities. The venue has hosted a variety of major events in addition to concerts and professional wrestling, such as the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, 1999 Stanley Cup Finals, 2003 Frozen Four and UFC 210. Ice Hockey fans can be accommodated in KeyBank Center capacity of 19,070; Concerts require 18,500 seats; Basketball games have seating for up to 19,200; and Wrestling events need 16,597 chairs. On November 16, 1996, a catastrophic event occurred at the arena as the Daktronics-made JumboTron with Sony video screens plummeted to the icy floor while it was being operated remotely. Mere moments after the Buffalo Sabres KeyBank Center completed their practice, and hours before their game against the Boston Bruins, this event occurred. Thankfully, there were no casualties in the incident; however, the game was postponed as a result. Later in the season, a new scoreboard was put into place. In honor of the late and esteemed Hockey Hall of Famer Ted Darling, a former Sabres broadcaster, the press box at this arena proudly bears his name. The KeyBank Center Buffalo NY is renowned for its Hockey, Basketball and Professional wrestling events. On April 8th 2017 though, it made history when hosting the UFC 210: Cormier vs. Johnson 2 event - Buffalo's first Ultimate Fighting Championship in over two decades! On October 9, 1998, Barenaked Ladies graced the stage of this venue with a memorable performance that was later captured in their 1999 documentary Barenaked in America. Avril Lavigne's electrifying May 18, 2003 performance at the venue was released as Avril Lavigne: My World. March of 2015 marked a monumental occasion for Downtown Buffalo, as the arena welcomed country music icon Garth Brooks to put on an unforgettable 4-night show that sold out 6 times over. An impressive total of 100,000 people flocked to experience this historic event! To a sold-out crowd of 15,100 adoring fans, Coldplay rocked the arena on August 1st of 2016 with their A Head Full of Dreams Tour. On December 24, 2016, an electrifying live recording of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band's show at the HSBC Arena in Buffalo, New York on November 22nd of 2009 was released to much fanfare.
