Steve Hackett is an English musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer who gained prominence as the lead guitarist of the progressive rock band Genesis from 1971 to 1977. He has since released numerous solo albums and collaborated with other artists such as Yes, GTR, Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe, and more. His career spans five decades and he is still going strong! In 1970, Steve Hackett joined Genesis as a replacement for founder member Anthony Phillips. During his seven-year tenure with the band, he wrote or co-wrote some of their most popular songs such as "The Musical Box," "Firth of Fifth," "I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe)," and "Supper's Ready." In addition to his work, Hackett has also been involved in various collaborations throughout his career including GTR with Steve Howe in 1986 which spawned the hit single "When The Heart Rules The Mind," Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe in 1989, and many others.
