Skating Polly is a band that formed in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, in 2009. The band's founding members were sisters Kelli Mayo and Peyton Bighorse, followed by drummer Kurtis Mayo. The band immediately developed a raw, rebellious style influenced by punk, grunge, and garage rock. They began playing in local adolescent clubs and DIY spaces, where they gained popularity for their high-energy shows with distorted guitars, driving rhythms, and emotionally charged lyrics.

The band's debut album, Taking Over the World (2011), paved the way for their future success. This was followed by Fuzz Steilacoom (2014) and The Make It All Show (2018), which demonstrated their development as songwriters and performers. Skating Polly has performed at SXSW and Riot Fest, as well as alongside Cherry Glazerr, Paramore, and The Flaming Lips.

Skating Polly concerts typically attract 300 to 1,500 people, depending on the location. Small clubs and mid-sized theatres are the greatest venues to catch them up close and personal. Signature songs such as "Little Girl Blue," "Ode to Scott," and "No Mercy/No Fun" are performed with a lot of excitement.
