Goldmen was founded in New Orleans in 2014 and combines funk, jazz, and soul music. Marcus Fields, the lead guitarist, began performing in local clubs at the age of 15 after being inspired by James Brown and Tower of Power. Their debut EP, Streetlights (2015), featured upbeat horn passages and engaging rhythms. Early appearances across Louisiana established a reputation for danceable grooves and energetic live performances.

Golden Hour, released in 2017, peaked at number five on the US funk charts. Goldmen performed at Jazz Fest and the Essence Festival, and they toured 70+ locations. Collaborations with renowned saxophonist Maceo Parker boosted credibility. Goldmen released Electric Soul in 2024, which included new songs "Groove Machine" and "Sunrise Beat."
