Dot To Dot started in the UK in 2005 and is all about up-and-coming indie, rock, and electronic artists. Alex Hughes, who curates the festival, started it in small venues in the city and then took it on tours of Manchester, Bristol, and Nottingham. Early lineups included unsigned bands and DJs, which gave local artists a chance to shine. The festival quickly became a place for up-and-coming musicians from all kinds of music to get their start.
By 2010, Dot To Dot had more than 15,000 people come each year, with big names like The xx, Alt-J, and Foals. Some of the best parts of the festival were the collaborative stages, workshops, and live radio shows. In 2012 and 2015, Dot To Dot won the Best Small Festival award. It grew to three cities and featured more than 100 bands each year. It became known in the music business for supporting the UK indie scene.
Wet Leg and Nova Twins are some of the big names at Dot To Dot. There are more than 50 acts on pop, rock, and electronic stages for festival-goers to enjoy.
