Go-Jo, which started in London in 2012, mixes electronic beats with funk grooves. Alex and Jamie Carter are the siblings who started the duo. They say that Prince and Daft Punk are two of their biggest influences. They both studied music production and got better at it by working in local studios. Their first EP, Pulse Drive (2013), got a lot of attention on BBC Introducing, which was the beginning of their rise in the UK electronic scene.
Go-Jo's big break came in 2015 with the album Neon Motion, which reached number 12 on the UK Dance Chart. They played at Glastonbury and Lovebox and worked with producers like Mura Masa. "Electric Soul" and "Midnight Groove" were big hits on niche dance charts, which got them nominated for Best Electronic Act at the UK Music Awards. Every year, more and more people came to see them on their tours in Europe and North America.
Hyperfunk, Go-Jo's most recent album, came out in 2025 and has 12 songs with live instruments. "Solar Drift," one of their biggest hits, gets crowds going with its mix of synths and tight rhythm sections. Their shows have visuals that draw you in and let you interact with the performers.
