The Southmartins, who got together in Sheffield in 2007, mix indie rock with soulful melodies. Lead singer Jamie Harlow, who was influenced by Motown and British indie music, teamed up with guitarist Liam Reed and drummer Sophie Clarke to make a unique sound. They got a lot of attention in their hometown with early demos like City Lights (2008) and shows at places like The Leadmill. Their first EP, Morning Rush (2009), had well-written songs with catchy hooks that quickly won them a loyal fan base and set the stage for their big break.

Their 2011 album Midnight Echoes made it to number 12 on the UK Indie Charts. At Glastonbury 2012 and Isle of Wight 2013, songs like "Fading Horizon" and "Golden Streets" were played over and over again. Working with Ellie Harper and producer Mark Thompson helped them expand their sound, and awards like Best New Indie Band (NME, 2012) helped them build their reputation. The Southmartins have released four albums and toured Europe a lot. Their live shows are known for being emotional, energetic, and connecting with the audience.

Their fifth album, Neon Dreams, came out in 2025 and includes hits like "City Lights Revisited" and "Soul in Motion." The live shows are both intimate and exciting, with acoustic breaks, audience participation, and signature guitar riffs. People love their shows for both the music and the energy.
