Queensrÿche, formed in 1980 in Bellevue, Washington, was a pioneering progressive metal band. Geoff Tate, Chris DeGarmo, Michael Wilton, Eddie Jackson, and Scott Rockenfield, the band's founding members, polished their skill through exposure to vintage rock, metal, and theatrical storytelling. Queensrÿche's early recordings, such as the 1983 EP, featured sophisticated arrangements and ambitious lyrics, paving the way for their 1980s breakout triumph.

Queensrÿche's 1988 concept album, Operation: Mindcrime, is widely regarded as a metal masterpiece and topped charts worldwide. Hit singles "Eyes of a Stranger" and "I Don't Believe in Love" received several Grammy nominations. They travelled the world, performing at Monsters of Rock and Rock in Rio, and recorded seven additional studio albums in the 1990s and 2000s, achieving platinum certifications and cementing their progressive metal legacy.

Queensrÿche continues to captivate audiences with explosive live performances, performing tracks from Empire (1990) to Digital Noise Alliance (2022).
