Skerryvore, which started in Tiree, Scotland, in 2004, combines traditional Celtic music with modern rock, drawing on Scottish folk music. Daniel and Martin Gillespie, two of the founding members, grew up surrounded by music and learned to play bagpipes, fiddles, and guitars. They quickly gained a loyal following with early performances at local festivals and their first album, West Coast Life (2007), which showed off their energetic style and complex arrangements that pay homage to Scotland's rich musical history.

Skerryvore's big break came with their 2009 album On the Road, which got good reviews and made it onto the UK folk charts. They have won a number of Scottish folk music awards and played at big festivals like Celtic Connections, the Hebridean Celtic Festival, and London's Royal Albert Hall. Their reputation grew after they worked with artists like Amy Macdonald and played shows all over Europe and North America. Their dynamic career includes multiple albums, top chart positions, and a lot of touring.

Skerryvore is still thrilling audiences with live versions of hits like "Everyday Heroes" and "The Boat Song," mixing high-energy performances with traditional instruments. Their most recent album, Live from Skye (2023), captures the energy of their concerts, where bagpipes, fiddles, and drums make a big impression on stage.
