Lebanon Hanover, founded in 2010 by William Maybelline and Larissa Iceglass, came from Berlin's thriving post-punk scene. Both creators contributed distinct influences, Maybelline's guitar-driven punk background and Iceglass's gothic, synth-infused melodies—resulting in a minimalist yet powerful sound. Trained in classical instruments and music theory, the duo also experimented with home recording and synth programming, resulting in a distinct darkwave style influenced by 1980s post-punk and modern electronic music.
Their first album, The World Is Getting Colder (2012), gained critical acclaim in underground circles, followed by Why Not Just Be Solo (2013) and Let Them Be Alien (2018). They played at Wave-Gotik-Treffen, M'era Luna, and Castle Party, gaining a devoted international following. Known for raw, expressive performances, their minimalist music appeals to those seeking depth and melancholy.
Lebanon Hanover is currently releasing ambient tracks and performing live in Europe and North America.
