Dirty Nice was founded in Los Angeles in 2016, and is led by vocalist/guitarist Jasmine Rivera. The band draws inspiration from the Red Hot Chili Peppers and LCD Soundsystem, combining rock, funk, and electronic elements. Jasmine studied music production at USC, and the group released the EP Electric Streets in 2017. Their early performances at The Roxy and Troubadour drew a local following drawn to their contagious enthusiasm and genre-bending music.

The 2019 album Neon Heat peaked at #12 on the Billboard Alternative charts, with hit singles "City Lights" and "Wildfire."
