Craig Finn is an American singer-songwriter and musician. He is best known as the frontman of the indie rock band The Hold Steady. Finn was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and grew up in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. He attended Boston College, where he studied English and journalism. After college, he moved to Brooklyn, New York, where he worked as a barista and a bartender while trying to make it as a musician. Finn is known for his literate, storytelling lyrics, which often deal with characters struggling with addiction and redemption. His work has been compared to that of Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, and novelists like Raymond Carver and Richard Ford. In 2010, Finn released his first solo album, Clear Heart Full Eyes. He has since released two more solo albums, Faith in the Future (2015) and We're All Gonna Die (2016).
